My Little Tasbih Kit: A DIY Guide

If you’ve picked up one of our DIY Tasbih Kits, this guide is here to help you and your little ones assemble a beautiful set of prayer beads or tasbih.

How to Assemble Your DIY Tasbih

What You’ll Need from Your Kit:

  •  33 colorful beads
  •  2 separator bead
  • 1 Imam (leader) bead
  • Pre-cut nylon cord or silk string
  •  1 Tassel

Step 1: Prep Your String

Start by tying a thick double knot at one end of your string. If you have a bit of tape, you can wrap a tiny piece around the other end to make it like a "needle" for easier threading!

Step 2: The First Eleven

Slide 11 beads onto the string.

Step 3: Add a Divider

Slide on your first Separator bead. These are important because they tell your fingers when to stop and transition to the next part of the prayer without having to look down.

Step 4: The Middle Section

Add another 11 beads, followed by your second Separator bead.

Step 5: The Final Stretch

Add the last 11 beads. You should now have three sections of eleven, separated by your special separator beads.

Step 6: The "Imam" Bead & Tassel

Bring both ends of the string together. Thread both ends through the large Imam bead at the same time. Finally, tie your tassel onto the ends with a very tight triple knot. Trim any extra string (with a grown-up's help!).
